Welcome, guys! I thought I should do a quick introduction. My name is Amber (she/her). I am a PhD researcher and graduate teaching assisstant at The University of Sheffield.

In the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering I am honoured to currently hold the role of President of GRAND (Graduate Researcher And Network Development).

I am also a competitive swimmer. I’ve swam for GBR a few times, including winning a European Junior silver medal. Now, I swim at the City of Sheffield, I’m sponsored by Neil Ednie and model for BeU.

I also have another exciting role – I am TASS’ Athlete Advisory Group Chair (more about this in Experiences and in future posts…)

I am a PhD student at the University of Sheffield, blogging to share my experiences with you! Through this, and my other roles I get to do some exciting stuff, so I thought I'd share some of it. I hope you find it informative, relatable and amusing in places! I love my PhD (most of the time) and also drinking tea, dog-walking and swimming, all of which will feature here to varying extents.
